The local library has been open to the public since 2000 where works took place to restore the former building named Paços do Concelho. The local council made a big investment to renovate the building and maintain its original characteristics, adaptations were made to provide the library with new functions. The result is an attractive functional space, with modern equipment. The library is divided into identifable sections. On the ground floor you will find two rooms: the Story-telling Room where children can watch children's stories on video and DVD, they can also play games and a diverse range of activities. In the other room there is a wide collection of books for children and young adults here they will also be able to undergo activites using plasticine, and more games. On the first floor you will find the Multimedia Room, where videos, CDs, CD-rom and DVDs are available to watch and listen to. Here you will also be able to read newspapers and magazines, you have access to free internet, the Adult's Room with a big collection of a variety of books on farming, economy, geography, history, psychology, sociology, etc., alongside national and international literature. The library also lends books out providing you own a library card.
