This site of educational and interpretative nature, located in the parish of Feirão, consists of an exhibition nucleous, covering the natural and built heritage of the Montemuro Mountains, encompassing area of the municipality of Resende.
The mountain range, included in the national list of sites of the NATURA 2000 network was classified as Corine Biotope, with the designation of Montemuro/Bigorne mountains.
It stands out for its biodiversity, highlighting the active raised peat-bogs and the vast community of vertebrates, including the wolf. This was given the status of threatened species, and finds here one of the last refuges. This centre also serves as a starting point to begin a breathtaking journey through the Montemuro's territory, enjoying the mountainous landscape, and knowing the local flora and fauna. Hiking and enjoying nature, or simply enjoy the beauty of the landscape, are some of the suggestions.
