Quinta da Aveleira

Tabuaço
Description / Facilities

Quinta da Aveleira, a family-run guest house, is situated in Távora and is surrounded by vineyards and farming activities. This guest house is set in a rural landscape, where guests can enjoy a fantastic natural landscape and peace and quiet.

Quinta Aveleira is currently run by the sisters Marta and Sofia Parente Macedo. It is a family project passed on from Generation to generation. In recent years, it has suffered some remodelling works to add value to and preserve the built historical heritage, and to provide the farm with modern and comfortable tourist accommodation.

Quinta da Aveleira once belonged to the Távora family. We can still find signs of this past and of the connections between the Marquis of Pombal and the Távora family.

The house has 4 rooms and is fully equipped as a traditional house typical of the Douro region.

The estate also has two more centenary houses of incomparable beauty, surrounded by about 25 hectares of vineyard, where tourists staying a few days in Quinta da Aveleira can enjoy the potential of the surrounding area as if they were in their own home. Tourists can stroll though the vineyards, take tours to historical landmarks, enjoy swimming-pool activities, agriculture and related activities.
