The track of Ermelo is a bicycle pathway covering a distance of 5.2 Km. The main branch, close to the foothills of Serra do Mezio, follows the northwest past several brooks and streams with fast currents feeding the Touvedo reservoir. Approaching Ermelo, we can observe the first signs of cultivation, small terraced vineyards and olive groves becoming increasingly clear. Orange’s trees delimit the road and, already in Ermelo, you can find them everywhere. In the village of Ermelo (about 4.6 km away) it is really worthwhile climbing up to the church. This church, classified as a national monument, was built where a Cistercian monastery of the thirteenth century once existed. You may find the old route to the Soajo following the track all the way for about (4.8 km).
