The monument dedicated to the "man of the sea". Esposende always lived off the sea as well as the people bringing them not only sustenance ,but also dangers and misfortunes . Thestatue designed by the "irmãos Bompastor "wainaugurated in December 1997. The monument is composed of five figures-four men and a woman -and a boat's keel. It symbolises the effort of the people who are sustained by what the sea gives, and who had built the necessary boats for work at sea
