Description
The  Statue of the Navigator Fernão de Magalhães was inaugurated on the 25th of September 2009. It is a work of the mexican sculptor Carlos Terrés and it  is another  international recognition to the village of Sabrosa as the birthplace of the navigatour Fernão de Magalhães.

Thanks to the effort of the Associação de Alcaides do V Centenário  and the offer of  Carlos Terrés  to the  municipality of Sabrosa. The bronze monument, which took about half a year to be designed and  weighs about 3 tons, it is placed in  the roundabout at the entrance of Sabrosa.
