The wide range of the Shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in the parish of Cerejais began to be built in 1961 by Mr. Canon Manuel Joaquim Ochôa. This sanctuary receives many visitors and pilgrims, not only of the Diocese but also throughout the country. Affluence quite significant, registered two annual pilgrimages; the last Sunday of May, at the end of the month of Mary and the second Sunday of October, the month of the rosary. It can be said that the Cerejais sanctuary is the presence of Fatima in the Northeast Transmontano.
