This space still displays marks of its previous functions, as were the berths for ships and yard shipbuilding. About the framing that ends at Cais das Lavandeiras, it was possible to observe the bustle of shipbuilding, together with a cheerful twittering laughter of the washerwomen who, on the border, washed clothes.
The recent renovation of this area allowed to integrate this historical memory along with the need to improve the public spaces of the city.
