Graham´s was established in 1820 in Oporto by two Scottish brothers, William and John Graham.
The company has developed over time an unmatched reputation as one of the greatest names in Port wine, being today the most awarded Port Company in the world, having won over 200 gold and silver medals in the past 20 years across the main international competitions (International Wine and Spirit Competition, Decanter and International Wine Challenge).
This legacy continues to flourish in the hands of the Symington family, owners of Graham´s since 1970, reflecting their dedication to making outstandingly good Ports through five generations.
THE GRAHAM´S 1890 LODGE
Graham’s magnificent Lodge was built in 1890. Located at the estuary of the Douro River, in Vila Nova de Gaia, the Graham’s Lodge affords spectacular views of Porto’s historic city centre and the iconic Luís I bridge that connects the cities of Porto and Gaia.
The maritime climate allows for the slow and balanced ageing of Graham´s Port wines. The sturdy granite walls of the lodge currently house 3,200 pipes (oak casks) and 40 tonels and balseiros (large oak vats) of ageing Port wine, as well as extensive cellars of Vintage Port.
In 2013, nearly 20 years after its opening, and to accommodate the dual functions of ageing and tourism centre, this historic building was rehabilitated. Today, the Graham´s 1890 Lodge is one of the top destinations for Premium Port lovers, where visitors can experience the best of three centuries of craftsmanship and heritage and discover Graham’s Ports.
