It is situated in the north part of Cossourado, over the Nevoinho River. This crossing was connected with old royal road between Braga and Viana do Castelo, from Cervães to Balugães.
This bridge has two unequal arcs and the left one is higher and larger than the right one. It has one breakwater backwards and one buttress, downstream.
The floor was covered by unequal granite flagstones. Some of these flagstones have signs of abrasion from the passage of the cars and carts. It has its original granite walls and a stone channel which conducts the irrigated water, backwards.
Its name is due to the Caridade family, whose house it not too far from the bridge. It must be from the 16th or 17th century.
