Description

Set of buildings, built in the first half of the XVIII century, following the major change of the city council by the decree of D. João V in 1719, the old Village of Basto (Castle) to the current location, the formerly called Vila Nova de Freixieiro. After that change, they built a set of constructions that over the time, played multiple administrative functions, even commercials, such as the house of the judges, the House of hearing and the Prison, that stand out for the architectural quality, and also because of the two coats with royal arms that bearing.
