Municipal Library Ferreira de Castro
In December of 2003 the Municipality of Oliveira de Azeméis and the Portuguese Institute of Books and Libraries, established a program contract for the creation of a true reading public library.
Since the 14th/December of 2007, that the Municipality of Oliveira de Azeméis has a Municipal Library, which is an essential infrastructure for the integrated development, where information, culture, education and leisure contribute to the improvement of the citizen’s quality of life.
The Municipal Library Ferreira de Castro assumes as its mission the promotion of education, culture, information and entertainment around the book and reading, in accordance with the principles of the UNESCO Declaration on Public Libraries.
The Municipal Library Ferreira de Castro is an open and dynamic space, claiming to be a democratic institution of learning, culture, information and leisure that seeks to achieve these objectives through the services it provides.
