Having occupied various buildings, in 2000 the Municipal Library finally found its own space in a modern building. Harmoniously located in the city’s noble area, with its sober architectural lines, with 3500 sq. metres of floor space, it combines, in a single floor, all functional areas for its users. The building’s various areas are disposed following the open space principle, from a main hall, in two axes: one boasts spaces for the promotion of the library’s cultural extension activities, and the other has reading rooms and is open to all kinds of consultations in various information formats. It boasts an auditorium with 192 seats, which regularly hosts talks, conferences, concerts and all sorts of cultural events.
