It is in the heart of the village of Armamar, next to the Mother Church. From here we can see down there the village of St. Joaninho located in a small valley, where summer temperatures easily reach 40 degrees centigrade. More ahead in the landscape appears the Douro valley and at the back, on the horizon, the mountains of Marão.
Next to this viewpoint is Misarela`s waterfall where the waters of the River Temilobos rush to meet Douro. It's a beautiful place, especially for the landscape it provides and the popular imagination filled with tales and legends. For a better view of the waterfall is recommended to visitors who go down the road toward São Joaninho and stop soon after the departure of Armamar. From there they may contemplate this natural monument.
