History:
It was the year 1934 when Anthony Fernandes Torres, Chairman of the Parish of Apulia, then founded the group Sargaceiros of Apulia. Six years later, this same man, founded the House of Commons of Apulia integrating within it the folk group. This "ambassador" of the county Esposende the four corners of the world, was considered one of the largest groups of authenticity given the genuineness of their dances and costume that characterize it.
Costume:
The Sargaceiro is a man who is a farmer working in tilling the land daily, but dedicated to the collection of algae on the beaches, when the "seasick" permits. The so-called "Sargasso" is composed of several species of seaweed that once collected with the help of "galhapão" and transported in "carrela", are extended on the beach with "graveta" and dry, making it an excellent fertilizer to the farmland. The "Branqueta" he uses, natural color as the name implies, is a long coat to mid-thigh used directly on the naked body.This dress, pure there, keeps body temperature stable sargaceiro, working as a wetsuit allowing you better convenience while staying in ocean waters. The "southeast" is also a hat made of the tissue of the anterior part but, nevertheless, is waterproofed and painted. The feminine element uses an equally pure wool skirt, cloth Branqueta, supported by a strap on the black band of wool, woven in handloom. Still uses a linen shirt, a black vest embroidered in colors, putting the head scarf merino. On feast days the women vests are enriched with a shawl merino Stylish Minho that is placed on the back, a black hat carrying a small frame with a mirror in front, this being replaced by photography or boyfriend of the bride, when it's justified.
Group Composition:
The toccata comprises two concertinas, two ukuleles, one braguesa viola, a guitar, one applicant, a bass drum and triangle. Accompany two singers and four or five pairs that form the choir, as well as eight pairs that make up the dancers.
