The original temple was founded in the 7th century by initiative of Saint Frutuoso, Bishop of Dume e Braga during Visigothic time, and destroyed by the “mouros” in the 11th century. It was later rebuilt by initiative of Garcia II of Galicia.
The Church is of a longitudinal plant and in Romanesque style. Highlight to the interior with 16th century frescoes with episodes of the life of our Lady. At the top of the Church it is possible to observe two crosses with similarities to Celtic crosses.
