Casa do Outeiro, classified as public interest property since 1977, is located in Outeiro, in the parish of Veade. It was built in the 18th century and greatly altered in the late 19th century, with the reconstruction after a fire. However, the earliest references to this House date back to the 16th century.
This manor is an isolated building, at the top of a slope above the valley of the waterside of Veade, appreciating an extensive green landscape.
This is a copy of Baroque civil architecture, rectangular in plan, with two floors, outstanding with side Tower arches, with three floors. In the backyard of the property agricultural activities are carried out.
As a notable element is the stone of arms with the insignia of the Teixeira, Macedo, Barros and Carvalho families, in the center of the cornice of the main façade.
In gardens adorned with reservoirs, grow the traditional flower plants, according to the custom of the land of Basto.
