The Casa da Juventude e Desporto de Baião (Baião Youth and Sport House) was built in the XIX century by General Francisco Lobo de Ávila, renowned person of the Portugese Liberal Revolution of 1820, and it still preserves the architectural and military features its owner certainly intended to.
It is also known by Casa de Chavães (Chavães House) due to the name of the place where it was built, in the parish of S. João de Ovil. This house was restored and adapted to accommodation and sport practice for both adult and young people. It comprises a multi-sport outdoor and support changing rooms. It has also a climbing wall, a mini golf and a physical maintenance circuit. There are still some available indoor spaces in the main house, such as the hall, the lounge, the meeting room and the Ethnographic Museum, which is located in the old cellar. In what was the threshing floor we have a supporting bar.
