Casa da Cruz, in the parish of Gagos, is a manor of the XVIII century, is being classified as patrimonial heritage. In the building the stone stair cases stand out, in the north side, and the windows balcony, in the nascent façade. The house has a camellia garden, traditional of the Basto region. Also known as “ Casa dos Motas”, in this house has lived the last Major Captain of Celorico de Basto, Domingos de Barros Teixeira da Mota, who has been described in one of the works of Camilo Castelo Branco.
