Consisting of several crosses and a pulpit in granite, the Calvary lies on the north of Arouca, in which the central cross dates from 1627. During the Holy Week is the place where the Procession of Bonfires ends – a religious event which name comes from the torches used to light Christ on his way to the Calvary.
