Quinta do Cão

Marco de Canaveses
Description / Facilities

The Quinta do Cão in located in the municipality of Marco de Canaveses, a county since 1852 as per the Decree by Queen D. Maria. The county is deeply marked by two rivers, the Douro and the Tâmega, which, together with the hills and the mountain, here where the Marão begins, set the boundaries and the everyday life of its people. This is the context in which Quinta do Cão appears as a place of leisure for tourism in the Douro region. Embedded in this unique landscape, the Quinta offers its guests, who visit it both by land or by river, a plethora of pleasures.
It is important to mention that although the undertaking possesses a set of added values that will enable it to remain permanently active, the fact is that it is also the ideal place to rest without the risk of any hustle and bustle beyond waking up with the chirruping of birds or falling asleep with the croaking of frogs. But, because it is located nearby some of the main cities in the North of Portugal: Porto, Amarante, Vila Real, Régua and Guimarães, is may also be the starting point for a cultural, wine tasting or even extreme touristic itinerary.
