The Quinta do Cão in located in the municipality of Marco de Canaveses, a county since 1852 as per the Decree by Queen D. Maria. The county is deeply marked by two rivers, the Douro and the Tâmega, which, together with the hills and the mountain, here where the Marão begins, set the boundaries and the everyday life of its people. This is the context in which Quinta do Cão appears as a place of leisure for tourism in the Douro region.
