Casal do Outeiro de Leirós, also known as Casal do Outeiro is located in the region of “Vinho Verde”, in the North of Portugal, near Oporto, 8 km far from the city of Penafiel.
Built on the 14th century, it belonged to the family of Martim Gonçalves Alcoforado, to whom D. João I, king of Portugal, gave the Santa Cruz de Riba-Tâmega, seigniorny in 1390.
In the 19th century it was partially destroyed by a fire and was then rebuilt. After that it was sold to António Huet de Bacelar, the actual owner’s father. This property has always been associated to the development of agricultural activities.
