Located in the village of Mondim de Basto (2,5 km from the center), Casa das Merujes offers a relaxing privacy for those who stay there. A breathtaking view of Monte Farinha, with the Senhora da Graça Sanctuary on its summit, offers us in the morning a sunrise that makes us reborn in the company of birdsong. The proximity to the Clear Waters Cabril´s River, invites you to a morning swim.
With a typically Trasmontana style, the house has 3 bedrooms, 2 with shared bathroom and one suite. Fully equipped kitchen, living room with fireplace in gallery, wc service, storage and a reserved space for reading, resulting from an old wine press remodelling. The house also has a balcony, terraces and patios, where you can enjoy "Il dolce far niente" in one of its hammocks.

For nature lovers and extreme activities we organize rafting, canoeing, fishing, paragliding, mountain biking, hiking (mountain tracks or waterways - Levadas), canyoing, among others.
The waterfall of the Fisgas de Ermelo, in the heart of the Alvão`Natural Park, with its waterfall of around 200m, the largest in Portugal and one of the largest in Europe, is undoubtedly the region exlibris. The various lagoons dug in the rock by the perseverance of Ôlo´s river waters over several millennia, marvel those who visit them or bathe there. In order to visit this wonder of nature you can make the pedestrian trail - PR3. This trail, along the mountain pass, gives access to the Piocas de Baixo and Piocas de Cima (lagoons).
For those looking for a spiritual moment, the region offers a tour of several religious monuments, among them the Sanctuary of Senhora da Graça, at the summit of Monte Farinha (966m). The main pilgrimages take place in July and September.
Access to this Sanctuary can be done through the PR1 - a trail that, for centuries, has been covered by the Pilgrims of Santiago and is well signposted. During this tour you can also enjoy the archaeological remains of Castro do Crastoeiro, whose occupation dates back to 4,000 years ago. There are also other access options such as the municipal road, for those who prefer the car, or several forest and rural roads, crossing fascinating woods, where you can enjoy beautiful walks or bike rides.
Finally, we can not fail to mention the gastronomic richness of the region and its wine. The baronese meat, the corn´s – a typical dish, the honey and the traditional sweets are just some of the delicacies with which the visitor can delight.
