In the seventeenth century when Tristão de Azevedo de Araújo "Leonese" was the Master of the Casa da Senra the wine produced on his land was already exported by the port of Viana.
In the twentieth century the tenth great - nephew Paulo Pimenta de Castro Damásio, started the reconversion of the vineyards according to the modern process of production, combined with the exceptional "terroir", that allowed the production of this excellent wine.
