Quinta das Escomoeiras - Wine Tourism

Celorico de Basto
Description / Facilities
The Quinta das Escomoeiras hides on  the terraces of an enchanted land, a small paradise on the banks of the River Tâmega, with  open views over the mountains covered with the forest, revealing remarkable details of the bucolic rural life. The  visitor  realizes  immediately this warmth, this freedom of being and staying in a refine place, but still comfortable and cosy.

With its nine thematic rooms, the farm is the ideal place for those who enjoy a peaceful stay in contact with nature. Outside, calm persists between the “green” Minho. For breakfast, you can sit out on the superb terrace overlooking a green landscape and taste the jams and juices made with fruit from the farm.

The Wine tourism is one of the strengths. The visit to Quinta das Escomoeiras is part of the Green Wine Route, including a pedestrian path along the vineyard, with visit to different places of interest as the organic garden, river and forest, guided visit to the winery and wine tasting. Among flowers and vines, there are countless olive and fruit trees. Jams are made with this fruit served to the guests and sold in the shop of the Farm.

A simple walk also reveals some aromatic herbs. Oregano, laurel, lemongrass and mint are born
spontaneously on the side of the road.

The production of the photovoltaic energy and the introduction of the organic farming, covering all the agriculture activity and forestry  are a testimony of the concern with the preservation of the environment.

The farm also provides the discovery of natural heritage through different activities such as hiking, cycle tourism in Tâmega line Ecotrail (the Farm belongs to Bikotel network) and descents of  the river Tâmega (Rafting).
