The Wine Cooperative of Sabrosa is located in the hearth of the Douro Demarcated Region, and the Alto Douro Wine Region was classified by UNESCO in 2001 as the World Heritage Site. It is an agricultural cooperative with limited liability, whose foundation dates from the 30th of July 1958, it was certified by the patterns of the Quality Management system, since 2008. The Wine Cooperative of Sabrosa has nowadays 532 effective members, who every year, at the time of the harvest, deliver their grapes to the cooperative, to produce one of the best NECTARS of the world. This Wine Cellar has a traditional inactive distillery, which was recently restored and designed for a wine tasting room named "Navigator Fernão de Magalhães tasting room”. The vineyards of their members are scattered along the Douro and the Wine Cooperative of Sabrosa is known by the famous white wines, among which stands out the wine that has the name of the great navigator of Sabrosa Fernão de Magalhães.
