The south coast of Vila do Conde brings together, absolutely smoothly, the rural component with the component beach and leisure. The parishes of Vila do Conde coastline, traditionally rural, whereas the agricultural holdings and activities associated with them are part of the dairy region of the Douro - Minho, and the cultivation of fields forming agricultural mosaics radiating green, complement the beauty of the predominant colours of the sand, sun and sea.
The parishes of Azurara, Árvore, Mindelo, Vila Chã and Labruge and the respective bathing areas offer a total of eleven bathing concessions distributed between Rio Ave, to the North and Rio Onda, to the south.
The natural beauty surrounding the safety of its beaches, including the beaches of Vila Chã and Labruge, by the configuration of the coast and the presence of rocky places creates excellent conditions for bathing by the younger ones.
All the bathing concessions make available to the bathers the beach facilities with bar and terrace service, public toilets and surveillance for bathers, with the presence of the lifeguard and respective guard post.
The majority of beaches, rich in iodine, offers also the traditional shade tents.
Throughout the south coast, the access to the beaches is done through raised wooden walkways, in long sections, we can make tours on deployed gangways, parallel to the coastline, particularly in Mindelo, Vila Chã, Moreiró and Castro de S. Paio.
