The farm Vila Beatriz was built by Amadeu Ferreira de Sousa Vilar and dates from the early XX century. The building was designed by the architect José Teixeira Lopes Júnior, having the “casa portuguesa” characteristics, which dates from the early last century. The building is decorated by tiles with rural and pastoral themes from the Aleluia Factory, in Aveiro. The building is provided with towers and sundial. The space (house and surrounding area) was acquired by the Municipality in 1985, being readapted to a Cultural Center. It opened on the 19th/November 1989. The Center was provided with reading, exhibition, and lectures rooms. It had new improvements in 2005. The Monitoring Centre and Environmental Interpretation (CMIA), also work here. It is also provided with swimming pools, a tennis court and a skate park.
