The Uíma Riverside Park, part of the parishes of Fiães and Lobão, combines the several systems of wetlands, drylands and inhabited areas that form its wide floodplain. Here one can observe some very rich spaces regarding habitat diversity, harboring a large number of species of plants and animals. The regeneration of the banks of the River Uíma, namely the interventions towards the preservation of its biodiversity and the conservation of the ecologic corridor, created the conditions to observe its natural habitats from up close. Visitors can tour footpaths where the protected riverside ecosystems are duly signaled, and observe the annual transformation cycles in a harmonious balance between natural conditions and humanized systems.
