Trilho dos Moinhos da Gávea (Moinhos da Gávea Trail)
The Moinhos da Gávea Trail is a small route trail (PR) and runs through the parish of Reboreda. The meeting point is the car park of Igreja Matriz de Reboreda (Main Church of Reboreda). The Main Church is a building with Romanesque features, which is composed by nave and the presbytery, in Mannerist and late-Baroque style. In the outside, it still preserves the marks of two bays in round arch which are now walled.
The parish still cultivates their fields, with abundance of corn, which explains the large number of mills that exists all along the river. It is a small route trail that involves us with the proximity of the riverside with its riparian forest, with all the charm of the shadow trees, with its bushes, plants, birds singing - a small natural paradise. Arriving at Núcleo Interpretativo dos Moinhos da Gávea (Interpretative Center), in the parish of Reboreda, there are five mills restored in the traditional Alto Minho characteristics. The corn was the main grinding of these mills. At the present, these mills can be visited. The trail starts going up by the hillside where we run through the pine trees always enjoying the landscape of the river Minho valley. We go inside a small parish named Gandarela, a charming and simple place that emerges on this slope, facing the north side.
