The National Park of Peneda Gerês territory was subject of human occupation since the recent Prehistory. Testimony of that are the megalithic vestiges spread all over this protected area territory, of which is a charismatic example the Megalithic Necropolis from Castro Laboreiro's upland. This Necropolis, one of the biggest of the Iberian Peninsula, is implanted in an important geomorphologic unity, where the cultural heritage lives together and harmoniously with the natural heritage, the Castro Laboreiro's upland. The monuments that make up this ritual territory, megalithic funerary monuments, are spread over an area of approximately 50km2 in the northeastern border with Galicia National Park. This is the most northern megalithic set our country and what is the highest altitude. This route takes the visitor by several megalithic groups of this necropolis, from the village which is nearest to the Branda do Rodeiro.
