It is located to the east of the Âncora Parish Church and near the Chapel of S. Brás, where it is supposed to be the first Parish Church of Vila Praia de Âncora.
This bridge, also named "Rasa Bridge", made the connection beetwen the two banks of the river Âncora in the old road to Viana, according to Américo Costa in his “Portugal Chorographic Dictionary”. It is a crossing point for the pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.
