The Municipal Equestrian Center of Baião

Baião
Description
The Municipal Equestrian Center of Baião has conditions for several nature sport competitions such as mountain biking, orienteering, walking paths and horseback riding, having also interest points such as the remains of pre-historic and Neolithic periods. The Municipal Equestrian Center has developed a great tradition in the field of hippotherapy or equine therapy, perhaps the noblest equestrian activities. This variant of equestrianism is intended to be for disabled citizens. Trotting or slowly, this activity produces three-dimensional movements that are similar to human movemenst which these citizens are not able to do. Thus, the action of riding the horse brings psycho-motor benefits and improvements in the quality of life of all these practicisers. This service is targeted to social welfare institutions, specialized in supporting disabled citizens. The Baião Equestrian Center has an indoor and outdoor riding arena, boxes for 10 horses and riding lessons accompanied by credited technicians.

Motorsports also have a place in the Equiestrian Center, which features a convertible circuit for speed lovers. This space, which has hosted some of the rally and quad “super special”, can still have other forms of motorsport. The circuit is available for training and recreation in this kind of sports.
