The Textile Industry Museum, founded in 1987, is located in an area strongly marked by the textile industry. It has been created with the objective of studying the industrialization process of the region, as well as contributing to the preservation of its industrial heritage.
In addition to the historical context of Vale do Ave industrialization, with particular emphasis on people’s work experiences, particularly in the cotton industry, this Museum exhibits a unique collection of textile machines that document the spinning process to weaving.
The Museum is located in the former Wool Spinning and Weaving Factory - A Lanifícia do Outeiro, Lda. - founded in 1920.
