The Textile Industry Museum of Bacia do Ave was founded in 1987 as a research project in industrial archaeology, with the objective of studying the industrialization process in the region and contribute to the preservation of the industrial heritage.  

The Textile Industry Museum of Bacia do Ave is an industrial-archaeological museum that, besides showing an overview of the historical evolution of industrialization in the region, exhibits a fascinating collection of historical operative textile machines.

Persons of the Museum's staff carry out working demonstrations with these machines, showing the evolution of spinning, weaving techniques, among others, throughout the ages. 

The Museum may be visited according to the following Hours:

Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 am at 5:30 pm

Saturdays and Sundays from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
