The Serra do Larouco is part of the Peneda-Gerês mountainous complex and is positioned as the third in altitude of Portugal, reaching 1527 meters above sea level at its peak.
Once we climb to the top of the mountains and contemplate landscapes corresponding to the Barrosã lands, the Geres, Peneda, Soajo and Cabreira, Ourigo, all of them seem to be at lower points before the Larouco God, that all surveyed in its thunderous magnificence.
The Serra do Larouco is beyond that of a beautiful mountain, a confirmation of the past galaico joining the “transmontanos” and “galegos”.
Location: Montalegre
