The Hostel for pilgrims of the Mosteiro de Vairão, opened in July 2013, the day of Santiago, is the first hostel in Central Portuguese Way for those who leaves Porto. It is about 25km from Sé do Porto, it gives pilgrims the ideal environment for the well-deserved rest. On July 25, 2015 opened the Pilgrim Museum - Interpretation Centre of the Camino de Santiago, with shared stories and objects by pilgrims from around the world. The Mosteiro de Vairão, building with over 1000 years of history, is set in a rural and quiet environment, and the Pilgrims can enjoy wonderful views from the windows of the rooms. Relatively close to the hostel it is possible to take advantage of some services, such as pharmacy, supermarket, restaurants and cafes.
