Santa Bárbara Belvedere stands 384 m high. Visitors can see the Santa Bárbara chapel and enjoy a pleasant picnic park. The view from the different angles is breathtaking: Vale de Figueira village, to the south, São Xisto and its typical schist houses and Ferradosa train station to the north, the valleys filled with almond groves to the east, and the beautiful landscape worthy to be considered one of the Wonders of the World to the west. A few kilometres down, we find the Valeira dam, which gives more character to the Douro River and the mountain valleys covered with vineyards on terraces. The rail line runs along the river bank and the Ferradosa metal bridge links to the Ferradosa train station.
In the far end, we see the famous São Salvador do Mundo belvedere and its granite slopes.
The outdoor facility may be visited at any time of day, so no booking is required.
