Description
The origin of this house dates back to a family legacy established before 1542 by João Dias Leite.
In the early 18th century, D. Maria Pereira de Melo commissioned the construction of a mansion, whose architectural design in attributed to Nicolau Nasoni.
The gate bears the coat of arms of Francisca Luísa Pereira de Melo and her husband Jerónimo Pereira Pinto Guedes .
Since 1928 the house became Government property, and currently it is held by the Ministry of Agriculture.
