History
: It all began in April 1956 when a group of Palmeiras joined in France and Agricultural Fair Party County Esposende al to represent some fashions and dance in the parish of Palmeira de Faro. This first performance of the group was crowned with a second place along with Apulia, having come in first place in the final podium Apulia and the parish of Rio Tinto.
In 1959, due to the lack of some elements for various causes, which features emigration and military service among others, the group went to inactivity stagnated until 1980, the chairman of the joint so popular with some of this parish successfully managed to "ignite the flame that was unlit."
In this phase of the group lived reactivation huge success, with tickets from abroad and with numerous performances in Portugal. In 1987 it formed an association with its own statutes - Center for Cultural Intervention Palmeira de Faro - in which part of this group. In 1989, with the death of Mr. Alfredo Faria, great promoter and leader of the Folk Group of Palmeira de Faro again enters a phase of stagnation and stop until the July 24, 1993, the "new" folk group this parish reappears in a folk festival in the city of Esposende, as well as in the distant year 1956 at its first performance. Dai until then, this group has performed numerous gigs in Portugal and abroad, with stints in television and some representations in official ceremonies.
Costume:
This group constantly seeking quality and originality that is applied in the making of their costumes, trying to maintain the most rigorous link between the present and the past.

Account this group with about 50 members, with its overwhelmingly young and roughly half of sex.

The repertoire of this group are part of numerous songs and dances of the region, alluding to the pilgrimages, the field work, the characters of the parish, among other reasons.
