Quinta do Bom Retiro is situated in a unique setting in the world, listed by UNESCO as World heritage: the Douro region.
Embellished in the 18th century by Luís Beleza de Andrade, one of the founders of the General Company of Alto Douro Viticulture (Companhia Geral da Agricultura das Vinhas do Alto Douro), the estate was bought in 1919 by Casa Ramos Pinto. The estate is one of the oldest and most typical in the region. It still preserves the original architecture and its landscapes.
It has always been used as a prime accommodation facility.
The estate is surrounded by classical vineyards and a lush garden built dozens of years ago. It has one of the oldest swimming-pools in the Douro region, fruit trees and exotic trees brought from all around the world.
