The Quinta de S. Roque (S. Roque Farm) was a rich farmer house with nobility details, which we can notice in the design of the portal that gives access to the threshing-floor and silo area, and above all in the half arisen tower dated from the end of the XIX century, on the farther east point. The façade of this building faces Rua da Pedra Vedra (Pedra Vedra Street). The building was projected in L as the old rich farm houses from the XVIII century. The house benefited from a magnificent geographical situation and good agricultural soils that in the past came down in terraces until the current EN 13 (National Road 13). The house is now being restored for tourism and it is possible that it will regain part of its architectonic value, once the old agricultural use is something that only difficulty will reanimate the still existing structures.
