Quinta das Carvalhas belvedere is situated on the Carvalhas mountain 487 m high and is surrounded by famous vineyards, such as those owned by Real Companhia Velha and Quinta de Ventozelo, overlooking a landscape of rare beauty. From the top of the mountain, visitors can enjoy the views to the south, over the valley and slopes of Torto River, and the wine producing farms, Sarzedinho, Valença do Douro and other scattered villages. To the north, from this privileged viewpoint, we can see the Douro River and the large wine producing estates part of Douro World Heritage Site, the tributary valleys of the Douro River, and the actual Douro River meandering across the landscape. Below us is the town of Pinhão.
