Private Tours - Romanic Tour

Porto
Description
Who doesn't like medieval temples in which the stone protrudes and reminds us of the so called age of darkness? Come and see great monuments from an age prior to the nationality and get to know the excellent gastronomy and amazing vinhos verdes of the region.
We will start by heading over to Monastery of Salvador de Paços de Sousa, funded in the 10th century, where Egas Moniz, knight and instructor for the first king of Portugal, grave lies. The next monument on our list is of the same time, Castle of Arnoia, a small but beautiful castle from the 10th century. Then, after a fine lunch, we'll visit Monastery of Pombeiro, whose foundation goes back to the 11th century, though not without some modifications throughout the centuries. To finish this tour, we will have a guided tour to the beautiful and romantic Quinta da Avelada(*), which will include a wine taste of famous wines. This is a farm that is known for its wines but also for the beauty of its gardens and state.
At the end of this tour, we will return to the hotel.
This tour isn’t possible to accomplish on Mondays.
(*) On week-ends and public holidays this visit is replaced by a visit with wine tasting to the Casa de Vila Verde.
To accomplish this tour you have to book at least 72 hours before.
