Private Tours - Alvarinho Tour

Porto
Description
Vinhos verdes are at their best on the towns of Monção and Melgaço. If the wine just by itself was worth a visit to it's birthplace, then the region, history, culture and fine gastronomy, only reinforce it.
We'll start by heading to Brejoeira Manor House near Monção, known for their Alvarinho, where we shall have a tour to the palace and the gardens, with a wine taste. We shall head on over to Melgaço next, where lunch will be served with some of the finest cuisine of Alto Minho and with Alvarinho wine. To better digest this fantastic lunch, nothing like a walk to Castle of Melgaço, the statue of legendary Inês Negra and a quick stop by Solar do Alvarinho, where we'll be able to taste several kinds of Alvarinho wines. Later on we will visit a place filled with art and culture and amazing views of Rio Minho, Vila Nova de Cerveira. It is a former convent that was converted into a museum in which the collection on the sculptor José Rodrigues is displayed. Convento de San Payo also contains several pieces by the same author, as well as some from the Orient and also some religious ones.
At the end of this tour, we will be returning to the hotel.
This tour isn’t possible to accomplish on Mondays, 1st January, 1st May, on Easter Sunday, on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and on 31st December.
