The Canto Marinho Beach is in the wild and with a reduced infrastructure, offers to lovers of hiking an interpretative route where you can see testimonies and memories of the last 2 million years of Earth's history (Quaternary period of Cenozoica). Between the Sierra de Santa Luzia (Source) and the Sea (West), we find a landscape marked by a pronounced arriba fossil; an extensive platform of marine erosion, with terraces, occupied mainly by Veiga de Carreço; vestigial ponds at the interface between the agricultural fields and the dune system; rocky outcrops with evidence of former colonies of sea urchins; Salinas, camboas and secular structures of coast defense, as well as the current corresponding to a sand beach continuous unconsolidated sediments, bordered by the dune cord, testimonies that we refer to different levels sea level, during the Quaternary period.
