At the top of Queirós Ribeiro Street we find Praça 15 de Fevereiro (15 de Fevereiro Square). This name is a result of the incidents occurred during the French Invasions. In this square we can see the bust of Gonçalo Coelho Araújo, responsible for organizing the resistance of Vila Nova de Cerveira against the French Army. On the passage through Queirós Ribeiro Street to this square, there used to be the Gates of Valença or Gates of Feira do Gado (Cattle Market) where until the nineteenth century a big cattle market took place. The gates of the wall were demolished in the late XIX century because of the difficulty of the ox-carts passing through them. From the old wall still remains the Baluarte de S. Miguel, which is partially visible to whom is following by Rua do Forte (Forte Street).
