The Surfing Life Club is the first surf school of Porto, founded in 1994 under the name Joao Diogo Surf school.
Always bet on a single program in northern Portugal, oriented sport, entertainment and tourism.
It offers a range of services covering different areas: regular classes every day of the year, with fixed monitors, equipment shops with technical advice, surfsafaris, surfcamps, classes in schools and colleges, partnerships with city councils, businesses and social projects to people with disabilities.
Headquartered in Matosinhos Beach, also We teach in Leca Beach, Aterro Moledo, Espinho, Cortegaça and Maceda, always in search of the best waves.
We teach different levels of evolution and several times, providing not only to the initiated as the most evolved continuous monitoring with professional surfing. With the launch of the Pre-competition group intend to train young, future professional surfers.
Both our school and our coach Joao Diogo are the only ones in North recognized for sporting merit by the Secretary of State for Sport.
It was the first national school with mobile operation (van to transport passengers to the beaches and to perform surfsafaris and taxisurf), the first in Portugal with competition team and take the athlete John Guedes national champion under 12 and under 14, also the first in Porto with continuous operation (based support on the beach in Matosinhos), which allowed the teaching and the practice of sport for every day of the year.
With regard to education, Surfing Life Club has developed an important role, since it allows to sport a safety-conscious way, and instill respect for the sea and the beach areas.
We are a Sumol Surf School, the only North.
Innovation is now the word of school order. After several stages of surfing in Australia, Joao Diogo, always aiming at contributing to the development of the sport, to the northern Portugal surf several innovations, such as the launch of SURF EDUCA® program in Portugal. It also marked the beginning of the special education project with students with learning disabilities, in partnership with APPACDM currently also provided with classes for autistic children and young people.
In 2009, the new facilities are opened under the promenade from Matosinhos Beach. Thus, we now have greater comfort, offering our students changing rooms, showers, enclosed space for support of birthday parties, meetings, technical material exposure of theoretical classroom for viewing footage of classes and workshops presentations, conducting functional training.
