Port Wine Cellars Cockburn’s

Vila Nova de Gaia
Description

The Cockburn’s Lodge has the largest and most authentic wooden port cellar (or caves in Portuguese) in the historic area of Vila Nova de Gaia. One of the oldest cellars in the city, it is where all of our Cockburn´s ports are aged. In particular, it is the home of our Special Reserve Port, which is aged for longer in order to achieve the perfect balance and softness that can only be achieved by slow maturing in old oak barrels. As you visit the Cockburn’s Lodge you will be aware that this is not a museum, and you will have the opportunity to hear the story of the many people who still work here.

The guided tour is an enriching experience and can be coupled with a wine tasting, or picnic with regional and traditional products, in a comfortable patio under the shade of the vines.
