On the left bank of the Douro River, next to the D. Luiz I Bridge, there is a place that holds the Burmester history. In 1750, even before the demarcation of the Douro Region, Burmester began a thorough work related to the production of Wines of Excellence which has continued up to the present days. It is in the Cellars-Museum that the Wines age so as to later reveal all of their prestige and elegance.
In absolutely inspiring scenery, these cellars show you, for instance, the first vat (dated 1883) and unfold the history of the Burmester family in a journey through distant times and places which remain part of our memory. Here, we can learn all details about the culture of the Wine; enjoy from the wonderful view over the city of Porto and finish with a true “Burmester Experience”, tasting the Wines which have conquered the most demanding palates all over the world.
